About

It is difficult to measure and communicate the experience of travel between two places.

Travelling is a composite experience of distance and time. Current measures, however, are abstract and the dynamic relationship between distance and time can be hard to communicate without a relatable standard.

An hour can feel like nothing, or stretch for an eternity; in the same time period you might have travelled from one major European city to another, or have only gone from the city to the fringes of suburbia.

This is an attempt to create a relatable standard gauge of experiential travel in 61 mins and 3 seconds, using Taylor Swift’s “1989” [International, USA and Canada Target Deluxe Edition (bonus tracks), excluding voice memos] as a universal measure.
